Smooth and subtle, Maker's Mark is bourbon with a distinguished history. Created by Bill Samuels Sr, it took six years of trial and error to perfect the recipe - a corn, barley and wheat combination, that makes this whisky so special.
Maker’s Mark
Available in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland & Iceland
Maker’s Mark is aged to taste, not time. This usually takes six to seven years and is determined by our Master Distiller and expert tasting panel. The recipe is not a secret: 70% Corn, 14% Malted Barley and 16% Red Winter Wheat.
- Appearance: Rich and brilliant amber
- Nose: Possessing a distinctive caramel aroma of the charred oak with a hint of vanilla
- Palate: Subtle sweetness, light, spicy flavour with a hint of butterscotch and vanilla
- Finish: Smooth, short and warm
Maker's Mark 46
Available in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland & Iceland
Maker’s Mark 46 adds French oak staves into a barrel of fully matured Maker’s Mark, allowing caramelised wood sugars to intensify – creating a bold vanilla, oak and caramel flavour. Made in cooler temperatures allowing the bourbon to mature more slowly. After a few months with flavours at the perfect balance, we open the barrels and bottle the bourbon.
- Appearance: Deep amber
- Nose: Hints of wood staves, caramel and sweetness
- Palate: Very intense flavours; a big crescendo of wood blending perfectly with deep, complex and rich notes of vanilla and caramel
- Finish: Long and smooth, beginning on the back of the tongue and continually moving forward
There's an old joke at the distillery that goes, "If we could make it any faster, we wouldn't." Because at Maker's Mark, it's one bottle at a time. Every time. That's as true today as it was when our founders filled our first bottle. And since then, it's been a widely held belief around here that character isn't made by machine.
